Stephen K Robert is a former chairman and CEO of Oppenheimer Group Inc, a New York-based company. He was recently elected trustee at the Perez Art Museum in Miami. He is a co-founder and trustee at the Source of Hope Foundation. Stephen Robert was instrumental in establishing a rapid medical evaluation (RME) at the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.
According to reports, about 17 percent of admissions at the hospital are a function of serious complications resulting from adverse events unrelated to the patient’s existing medical state. This means that RME plays a vital role in quickly reviewing a patient’s condition to reduce the likelihood of morbidity. Time to Provider (TTP) is an essential aspect of patient satisfaction. RME ensures fluid treatment, guarantees positive TTP, and makes sure patients have access to care as fast as possible. Therefore, having an RME team in your hospital can help significantly reduce your hospital’s mortality rate. Also, having an RME team in your hospital helps improve patient outcomes.
