With over four decades of experience in the finance industry, Stephen K Robert has established himself as a prominent figure, having held leadership positions, including chairman and CEO of the Oppenheimer Group. Stephen Robert is the co-founder of the Source of Hope Foundation. With a strong commitment to helping underserved communities, the foundation has provided vital resources and relief to nations like Colombia, Haiti, and the Bahamas.
The Source of Hope Foundation extended humanitarian support to the Bahamas, which experienced significant destruction from Category 5 Hurricane Dorian in 2019. The hurricane was one of the most destructive hurricanes to ever hit the Atlantic in history. It resulted in 29,500 cases of homelessness across the Grand Bahama and Abaco Istands, as thousands of people lost their homes in debris. Abaco and the Grand Bahama Islands in The Bahamas were in destruction in the aftermath of the storm. The storm also annihilated the primary airport terminal on Grand Bahama, and debris and fallen trees ripped through the roads. Even for first responders and emergency personnel, reaching the islands posed an immense challenge. Source of Hope contributed monetary donations to Mercy Corps. The fund eventually facilitated the supply of medical equipment, lanterns, and other essentials to households. The storm had flooded aquifers, the primary sources of drinking water in the region. Mercy Corps was able to help some parts of the country access clean water.
